Brief Update: Send us some local bands to look at!

Help us help you!

One anonymous reader submitted this local San Diego black metal band for EM to take a look at, and we’re definitely considering reviews and interviews with local bands that have ’something’ going for them.

Just remember that some bands might not make the cut, and if you’re submitting your own band, don’t expect total praise and worship. We practice critical analysis in our reviews, you’ll never read reviews that you see at other sites such as “OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS ALBUM IS SO AWESOME IT STOMPED MAH TEEF IN!! BROOOTAL!!”

On the way is an interview with Phobia (if they ever respond to our questions…) and perhaps one with Gortuary.

The Elitist Metalfag is devoted to preserving any signs of life (i.e., death metal and black metal) within the Southern California region, in particular, San Diego, with local band, show, and venue reviews.

Do you know of any up-and-coming San Diego or California bands that should be reviewed?

Send a Message!!

(Links to full album samples, demos, and websites are always helpful.)

Pretentious elitist metal “blog”

dream_theater_pretentious.jpg
“Blog” is such a hipster thing. But who gives a shit? Tools in the wrong hands are just destructive.

Also, a word to the wise: this site will have next to nothing to do with pretentious elitist metal (i.e. Dream Theater). Perhaps just elitist metal, but nothing more. The title is just a self-referential ironic attempt at a hipsterism (the hipsterism is self-referential irony), which is even more ironic because of the fact that I’d never be considered a hipster, only a pretentious elitist. OMG IRONY, cue the indie rock album for added self-loathing.

In other words, this site will be filled with whatever useful information I have, in whatever form is chosen.

Because the Internet is for information. Am I right?
